Reviews On Printers - Wanted
I want to ask others for a short review thumbs up or down to printers - make or specific models.
I am after a good quality printer that is not heavy on the wallet for ink cartridges or nearly impossible to buy. I do not want to use refills either
Thankies if you can help

You've hit the nail on the head on the consumibles. That's where they try to sting you. e.g. a great laser print for less than £500 - sounds great. Until you realise that new toner = £200.

I've got an Epson DX4450 - scanner and printer combo.
I got it from ebuyer, they don't appear to have it anymore but they have the DX4400 for
£48.96
Ink is pretty good value, I get through quite a bit with printing essays etc. 4 pack (black & 3 colours are
£20.14.
There's a Samsung Mono laser on ebuyer for
£38.99 (including toner) with extra toner available for
£49.07

Canon I470D - its not a cheap printer (I paid £120) but the cartridges are peanuts (couple quid each). Does great photos too!
If your a heavy print user u can get like 12 cartridges on ebay for a tenner (out of date slightly but they only last a couple weeks with me anyway!)
had it like 2 years now and ive replaced the head once (got one for a tenner on ebay again (someone had a broken printer but head was fine so i snabbed it).
canon are reliable and not over priced on cartridges - just steer clear of lexmark - expensive isnt the word!

Hey guys thats great help so far

... I will look at links properly later in evening.
Cost of printer isn't to much of an issue Im willing to pay whatever to £150 tops which I should have said its the quality & cost after because I need it for high useage but again not naff quality is essential!
Drooler yip I have a lexmark - good deal going on them when I bought only I have since refused to buy cartridges for it & now need a printer

I've found it's cheaper to use the original cartridges not the compatibles. They maybe a little more expensive but in the long run works out cheaper cos of quality and amount of pages they print.
I nearly brought a canon but ended up with the epson because of the lower ink costs.
