Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your experience. It seems that they're not getting any better at this. Must be company policy to make returns as tricky as possible.
With threads like this getting read by hundreds of people, I think they should consider a re-think.

On the subject of 'dissin this site' i'd like to add...
A few years back I ordered a Hoodie from their site. After eagerly waiting for it... they sent me out a Rolling Stones t-shirt instead.
I mean... what's all that about!?!

I returned a Ninendo wii fit plus with balance board and it was very easy to do. They even picked it up from my house, although they did charge me £1.42 for the privilege! I would definately use Play.com again.
