Angry WEMBLEY RIPOFF ALERT - Photo of Stadium food & drink menu / price list

    Address: Wembley Stadium, London
Date of menu: 8th August 2010
Would I recommend this place? For eating or drinking? Never!!!!

Sorry for the poor pics, but I think the actual detailed price list was hidden on the counter for when you were past the point of no return at the front of the queue.

We were at the Charity Shield Match yesterday, Manu vs Chelsea. People were sitting at their seats with their little KFC style boxed meals. Didn't look too appetising, I must say. Put it this way, if you russled it up in your own kitchen, you'd be disappointed.

    The main choices were:

Chicken (nuggets) and chips - £8.90
    Cheeseburger and chips - £8.20
    Fish and chips - £8.90

Honestly, don't bother. If you buy a pint of beer in a plastic cup, it's not far off a fiver. A coke £3.50. And listen to this. You may fancy something to pick at and just order a portion of chips. Forget it! They will only serve chips with the over-priced alternatives above.

Do yourself a favour, eat before you attend the stadium. There's plenty of food places around the stadium. If you take your own drink in, they'll ask you to transfer it to a plastic cup provided. They say it's so you can't use the bottle as a missile (they used to just confiscate your bottle top), but I suspect it more likely it's to ensure you buy a soft drink for £3.50.

p.s. Other than that, it's an excellent stadium.

Isn't it just. I'm not against companies making a profit but when will they learn that blatant ripping off will mean less people buy.

A family of 4 can expect little or no change from £40 just because they want a little snack!

    Tips for Wembley:

Extend the period the stuff is for sale, including after the event. This will prevent the huge surge of people looking to buy all at once.
Price things more reasonably and be more flexible with the menu.

You've got a captive audience of 80000. Look after them after the event too. Why send them all away at once by shutting shop? Getting out of Wembley is a nightmare at the best of times. So give people the option of being wined and dined for a couple of hours at least - at a reasonable price!

Otherwise sites like this will recommend nobody buys from you.

I recall going there a couple of years back, for a telecoms seminar - Food was put on so no cost, but if there had been the choice of naff all or that price, I think id have gone with naff all. I just cant swallow the idea of paying almost a tenner for "snacky junk food". £10 in a town (or even in a city sometimes) gets you a decent lunch!
