The company says that from March 29 it will begin to accept all empty cosmetic tubes, bottles and jars, regardless of who manufactured them, at any origins stand-alone or department store.
All returned packaging will then be sent to a recycling centre where they will either be used for energy recovery or recycled into new materials.
The Returns to Origins Recycling campaign is being marketed under the campaign banner Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, which includes a logo incorporating the slogan, together with an image that represents sustainability.
The company claims that its move is an industry first and will help to bring about a greater level of awareness of recycling issues in consumers, and more specifically the potential recycling for beauty products.
To help promote the scheme the company is offering samples of its skin care products to the first customers in its store to hand in empty beauty products for recycling.

Is this in just the big Boots retailers, As I have a smaller one in my town in Wales and wondered if it covered all Boots Stores?

I think there needs to be an Origins counter at a store or a stand alone store.
Origins - Store Locator - Find a Store Near You
My local Boots isn't listed there which is a small one

Thanks
Are you still able to get it from the one by you? And is it just one container you take in? Also if you take multiple containers in can you get 2 samples?

No my nearest would be Edinburgh - in the John Lewis. It will only be 1 free sample but I guess you could take in as many empty bottles etc as you want to get rid of them.

What a great way to encourage recycling, lately I have been thinking about all the stuff we would normally throw away and most of it is just wasteful, I am glad to see that companies are encouraging their customers to think more eco-friendly.
