Default Getting a better deal from sky

I've just subscribed to setanta as they've got the England games, which means to be honest, I've got football coming out of my ears (and that's before the champions league starts again. Most of the games are pants and there's a principle too. Footballers are paid too much. So I thought I'd do my bit and cancel my sky sports package. Yep the whole lot. Even soccer a.m.

Phoned them and they told me that the package would go down from £50 per month to £32 without sports, but rather than just cancel they'd let me have the sports for just an extra £3 a month for 3 months. I'll cancel then. Saved £45 with a 3 minute phone call. (or did I just lose £9 )

Something I've been thinking about is Sky HD. I have a 48 inch TV and I use my computer on it/watch movies on it in HD and it's great. So for that reason I've been thinking about getting Sky HD but I don't know if it's worth it - there are only a few HD channels from what I can see

we tryed doing something about getting sky + but we didnt seem to be getting anywhere they still wanted installation fees and half price for sky + box.

We pay sky monthly £37 and talk talk for internet, landline and phone. Weve just had to switch back to BT for landline cause sky said they need the line, so weve got to wait for BT to connect on th 15 sept (12 month landline contract) , then we will go with Sky for tv, internet and phone. But even with all that we still couldnt get Sky+ cheaper.

And well done to you Carrie.

Suggest people really get onto this. If you've got sky, you can almost def get a better deal if you tell them you want to downgrade cos it's too expensive.

Let's face it, it's expensive anyhow and it's a good time to tighten your belt.

Let us know how you get on.
