What an evening...

Heard a loud noise outside at about 1am this morning, went outside to find a car on its roof. (very luckily both the driver and passenger were unhurt)

The driver was 17 and only passed his test last week, was breathalysed and over the limit.

He hit my neighbours car (writing it off) and has done a fair bit of damage to the rear of my dad's car.

Spent the evening with the police, fire brigade and neighbours sorting it all out.

Before they left they informed us that by the time the lad got to the nearest police station (about 40mins away) where he was breathalysed properly he had sobered up enough and was under the limit and therefore got released.

Although he is being done for driving without due care and attention.

It's idiots like him that make people of my ages insurance so high (I had a good moan to the police about this! Which they agreed!) )

Quite awake now its quarter to four....

Blimey. Could have been much worse I guess.

There's been suggestions of things like curfews for new drivers and different speed limits. I guess if it's coupled with lower insurance premiums - it's an idea worth considering?

things like that really get my back up so ill not commentor ill be ranting all day
