    Default Cat owners...

How do you get cats in the stupid carriers! Kitty was supposed to go back to the vet today after pulling out the disolving stitches but couldn't get her in the carrier.

Luckily it's nothing serious as the wound isn't open but was just to get it checked but she will not move. She hates us all for the op and doesn't follow me anywhere anymore. Last night she wouldn't even go on the floor - just walked round my room on all the furniture

People in the house across the road were watching us and then sis' boyfriend walked past laughing Least vet said can leave her and try later but she isn't budging

i have 3 cats and previously owned another 2 did it all the same way push them in and shut the door quick

the hardest is my fat long haired cat she will not go in i pick her up with one arm hold the door and just shove her in
big prob the other end as they refuse to come out
but soon walk back in when the vet has finished with them
seriously though dont be afraid of hurting her you wont just push or lift her and put her in thru the door another way is standing the carrier on its end and drop her in backwards dont think im making hell of a lot of sense here ill shut up lol

Mum had a friend in and she said stick her in the arm of a big coat and she'll come out the other end The carrier we have has a weird metal door thing that comes right off so got to have cat in one arm and door in the other.

Just wish she'd leave the stitches alone but she keeps licking and biting them. Eww!

She's got a big appetite today and seems happy enough lounging around on my bed

We laid out a trail of food but she wouldn't go in it. Will stick some in though and see if she has a wander tonight although she's only been on the floor once today for the litter tray and then was back up on the bed.

I think a good idea is to leave the carrier open for a while so the cat gets used to it, that way next time you go it might be easier.

She got into it fine when she went for the op but she was in heat and didn't mind being picked up. She's standing staring at it now... I think she thinks it's going to get her if she jumps down for the loo... so she's plonked herself down at my feet to sleep instead

The door isn't on it if she does go wandering in the night and some dry food in it so see what happens tomorrow.

my cats fell for the "throw a toy in the basket and they'll jump in after it thing" for the 1st time they went to vets.

now, if all else fails, i get someone to hold the basket with the door at the top. i can then pick up cat under front legs and lower cat into the cage (rear legs first). , might need 2nd person to make sure rear legs slide through the door and dont get a foot-hold

when they get to the vets if they wont come out of cage i tilt the basket so they kinda slide out.

p.s. cut of all exit routes from the room (when they make a dash for it they always end up under the bed
