Really glad to see Becks as captain. I know a lot of people think it's mental.

It's a great statement by the manager to give the finger to the media. Becks is a great role model compared to most footballers. His attitude to England is second to none despite the grief he gets from the media and occasionally the fans. Every game he's involved in - he doesn't stop working, and the matches always go flat when he's taken off.

If we had a string of players better than him then he shouldn't be in there. But we haven't.

The manager knows this and he's certainly doing things his way.

I tell you what, there's a lot of professional players who'd have missed this too.
