    Default PS3 - Another Price cut

    About time, but amazed they've got rid of the backwards compatibility. Like we said from the start, too expensive. Now they're struggling.



    A cut price PlayStation 3 (PS3) with a smaller hard drive and no backwards compatability with previous consoles goes on sale later this month.     The £299 PS3 has a 40-gigabyte hard disk and will be released in Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.
    Sony has also slashed the price of the 60GB model, from £425 to £350 as it hopes to ignite sales.
    Ray Maguire, head of PlayStation UK, said he expected the PS3 sales base to double by Christmas.

    Think ill stick with my 360, £299 for the xbox elite which comes with a 120gb hard-drive plus halo 3

    hubby was talking about this no way would i buy it at that price the games available are pants not much choice id rather have a wii or xbox 360

    Exactly my feelings. If you want something a bit different it has to be the wii. They've got to realise it's not about the best graphics and stuff anymore. It's just a bonus, all other things being equal.

    GTA will be out on the xbox 360 aswell, plus extra chapters will be available every month on xbox live

    too expensive for me, weve got PS2 i like this console because i like all the Singstars.

    That would be our reason for getting a PS. Great for parties. Do any of them have any pink floyd or Pulp songs.

    Pink Floyd..? Now yer talkin'!

    No backward compatibility...?

    Since my gaming has been 99% on the PC for the last couple of years or so, I think we'll just make the PS2 Last: it should do our lil' un for some time yet..



    Though yeah, as others have mentioned, the wii seems more interesting... might give that a go one day, if I come across a cheeeep one! ^..^
