Default 1st Generation iPod Nano recall

If any of you have an Apple iPod Nano (1st gen) you may be able to get a free replacement

Apple - Support - iPod nano Replacement Program

You'll need to enter the serial number from the back of the Nano and you'll be sent a replacement within 6 weeks of them receiving your Nano.

They'll send you a box to return it in.

Now I have a dilemma. Do I return mine or not? I lost all the songs on iTunes so I don't connect this one to iTunes or it will delete everything I do have on it

I think I've got one floating around somewhere. I'll have to have a look for it now.

Either I bought a new laptop or lost everything on laptop so all the tracks were deleted. Some of the songs I'd bought on iTunes are no longer being sold so can't download them again and if I do reconnect iPod it's not going to transfer the songs back to iTunes but delete them.

I find iTunes pretty confusing...during the summer, I freaked out one day as when I loaded it, it claimed to not find my library and I had no idea why. I sorted it out in the end though, had to manually point to the right file...not sure why it lost the link.

isn't there a setting where you can transfer files from your iPod back to iTunes, rather than synching it the other way around so it'd delete them? there must be :-/ I find these things so confusing/complicated though! im so not used to

iPod arrived. Got a wee bit of an upgrade - sent a 2GB nano and got a 6th Generation 8GB nano in return.

Nice! can't argue with that!. I'm a little sad the battery in my iPod Touch is starting to diminish, I bought it just over a year ago and its needing to be charged every 3 or 4 days now :-/ I do use the wi-fi on it a fair bit though, which probably gobbles up the battery quite fast (if you know what I mean)

I'd like an iPod Touch! The new Nano is definitely different to the old one but it's still good! I'm having to charge it daily and that's just from a few hours listening

thats a shame I've never had a Nano - the smallest mp3 player I had was an 8gb Sony one but my music collection exceeded that. I have too many songs lol...not that I'm ever able to listen to all of them all the time I suppose, I guess its greed wanting the higher storage models. The iPod Touch is good for storing/watching videos as well as music mind you though!
