Excuses for being late?

The other day I was late for work for the most STOOOOOPID reason EVER!! So was wondering... What most 'weird' or 'mad' reason have you guys been late for something??

Just to make me feel less bad about mine. LOL!!

Okays. Mine was the other day...

I was actually at the BUS STOP... but then a duck started walking across the road... it was just waddling along... I was thinking 'OMG, it's going to get hit'... So I watched... I watched and watched it walk along...

... I was soooooo engrosed in the duck reaching the other side of the road that my bus went STRAIGHT PAST ME!!!

So I then had to go into work LATE and be all like "Sorry I'm late... I was watching a duck cross the road"

CRIIIIIIIIINGE!!!!

Wow, that is pretty random...I have to say, this applies to me alot because I do tend to end up leaving the house in a rush :-/ no matter how organised I am *shakes head*. The main reason I tend to be a bit late is because I can't find either my car keys (since I drive) or my mobile phone and im paranoid about driving without my phone incase I broke down or crashed, since it happened once before. Not a great excuse but hey, can't drive without my keys lol...other times there have been diversions in place on the road to work but you couldn't really make it up I suppose...ummm...other than that, im not sure :-/

btw its funny you mention a duck in the road as I was in the car with my parents the other day and they spotted a grey squirrel going down the middle of the road in town(!) we were worried it would be run over as its a kinda narrow road and a few seconds later a car going the other way drove down - I hope it ran off!
