Exclamation Pirates in the 21st century!

    Hijacked oil tanker nears Somalia

A giant Saudi oil tanker seized by pirates in the Indian Ocean is nearing the coast of Somalia, the US Navy says.
The Sirius Star is the biggest tanker ever to be hijacked, with a cargo of 2m barrels - a quarter of Saudi Arabia's daily output - worth more than $100m.

It was 400 miles off the coast. Apparently they'll probably get millions in ransom money.

Question: How is it that if there were 10 hostages ready to be beheaded, we never negotiate. But when it's pirates 100m worth of oil, it's fine to give them cash!?!?! Surely paying for the ship back will just make them do it again?

You can't hide a super tanker. Send in the

to wipe them out. That'll stop them doing it again.

Stuff the SAS, send Jack Bauer in! He'd get the job done in twenty four hours, with a bit of shouting, torture, getting shot but then wiping them all out or something.

And why the hell have the been doshing out ransom money left right and centre. They say £20 million has been paid the pirates in the past year.

They could probably buy themselves a nuke with that and hold the whole world to ransom!!!!!

A Saudi supertanker that was captured by Somali pirates in November carrying two million barrels of oil has been released, reports quoting pirates say.
A regional maritime group also said pirates had left the Sirius Star, Reuters news agency reported.
A negotiator for the pirates told the BBC a $3m (£1.95m) ransom was paid.
And they say crime doesn't pay!? We're in the wrong business!
