Hi folks.

Hope you're all well and not spending too much in the run up to Chrimbo. There's certainly some cracking offers appearing here. Well done guys.

We're looking to add a new section to the forum, but could also do a bit of tidying at the same time. If anybody thinks there should be any changes to the forum structure e.g. renaming sections, adding sections, or just getting rid of sections, then please say.

As you well know, we've now got 10's of thousands of fantastic money saving tips, contributed by you lot, which is brilliant. We want to make it as easy as possible for newbies to find their way around. Also want to make it easy for you guys who contribute all the time. e.g. Perhaps sub-sections are renamed "offers and freebies" as opposed to just "Freebies" rather than having a separate "Bargains galore" section?

So for example:

Free stuff for Book Worms

Becomes "
Free stuff and offers for Book Worms"

Or even

Becomes "Free stuff, voucher codes and offers for Book Worms"

And then lose the separate voucher codes section too?

I'm just thinking that newbies might browse per category, rather than voucher code if they're looking to save cash on a particular type of item.

Let us know what you think on this or anything else you think might simplify the place. Your input is much appreciated. Thanks everybody!

Im opposed to say, mixing:

Book:

deals
vouchers
bargains

It would be a mess. I mean, if you went into Book Worm section, you would see a mess of vouchers, bargains and deals.

How about

Main page:

Kids
Books
Cosmetics
...
...

Then in each one,

Bargains
Vouchers
Deals

That way the main page is less cluttered and if you want say Books, you click books, then decide if you are looking for vouchers or bargain etc?

If that makes sense?

Yeah I agree with Jak having sub forums would be better.

Especially for Misc because it's quite full already and would probably even benefit from more forums.

Great stuff guys, and cracking suggestion Jak. We can do that.

Will also have a little re-arrange of the main forums on forum home to push the more useful Freebies - Money Saving - Bargains Galore - Competitions! Forum area to the top (just below forum announcement).

If anybody else has any other suggestions, like merging forums then we're all ears. I know there's nothing worse than having two very similar forums so you're unsure as to where to post.

Thanks again.

Or even stick all Freebies together in one sub forum under "Freebies", then sub that into existing i.e health&costmetic, kids, books........

That takes 8 into 1 on front page!

And while were on changes, how about making new threads have a compulsary number of tags. I for one often forget to put any and I assume its a biggie when it comes to searching from engines?

Sounds interesting. Though I'm not so concerned about having many forums on the front page, it's more whether they confuse where two could equal one. What I mean is, if we're just going to move them, then sub them, there still remains the same amount, if that makes sense hehe.

At long as you're happy with the amount we have and aren't concerned about the quantity, then we're happy too.

Def think the sub-foruming (if that's a word) the category of merchant to contain it's own sections of coupons, general deals, freebies is a great move. It means that if you're in the market for booze, you know where to go for all types of deal.

Good idea on the tags too. The do help on the seo. Will look into that.

Just a little heads up. There may be some disruption over the weekend as we move stuff around.

Hi Guys,

can you have a look at the health and beauty section from the forum home page and see what you think.

You see the idea being, new visitors can see each section and main sub-section from the home page so it gives them a better idea of what's available and easier to search offers by product type.

E.g. if I was interested in booze offers for a party coming up, I'd know to go to the food and drink section where I'll find

> Food and Drink Voucher codes
> Food and Drink Free stuff
> Food and Drink Other offers

This will probably help search engines direct users too.

If you guys are happy with this we'll power on changing the other sections.

Thanks for your input.

Would it be better to have the freebies showing when you click on Health and Beauty and then the extra clicks into voucher codes/bargains?

Most people would be interested in the freebies I think then it means one less subforum for each?
