    Yep, hard for them to find work - especially without car - then they charge a crazy amount for insurance - preventing them from getting work.

    I just decided to send away for my provisional, and I'm a little scared now of the cost of insurance after reading this. I was also told that insurance is set to go up around September? So it doesn't look like the situation is going to get any better.

    As ever, young drivers have been hit hard in the past year – while 17-20 year-olds didn’t see the highest percentage increases during the period, they still suffered a hefty 31 per cent rise. That took the average premium to £1,884; around three times the overall average.
