It's in the small print and a box you need to untick. Phone them up and she should get her money back.

HC's spot on. It's a very naughty little programme that Vistprint partners with called VP rewards.
I think Vista print offer quite a good service and can't for the life of me imagine why they'd get involved with such a dodgy scam.
I'm normally pretty sharp on small print, yet didn't clock the fact that the company credit card was getting charged about a fiver a month for 18 months!
We rang them up, kicked up and they refunded the money straight away. They know full well it's slightly dodgy which is why they're quite willing to give the cash back when you notice.

i wouldnt call this a "scam" - its underhanded yes, ill agree but the box is there to be unticked. ive used VP many times and always had decent service.
scam implies they are getting your money via deception, which in this case is untrue. they are giving the option, albeit in very small print and out of the way.

I've used Vistaprint a few times, for a lot of things they seem to come out half what you'd pay a local printer (and that was with rushed shipping!)
I wouldn't call this a scam, just (as someone else said) dodgy and underhanded.
Good luck getting your mum's money back melly001

Hi,
I just ordered some free business cards for them. HUGE Posatge and Packing with VAT added at the very last stage Grrr.
But I never saw any box to uncheck to NOT sign up to there monthly rewards club thing. Should I be worried?
If I missed the optional opt-out I'll be well angry. That would be more than 'underhanded'. I did seem to keep going round in circles when paying at the checkout.

Hmmm, this has me suspicious now. I took advantage of one of their offers and got a calendar made from my own photos back in December for just the P&P cost, so I have ordered from them. VPRewards rings bells with me, is it the same as Ventee Privee, or however its spelt? I get PTC ads for that on MutualPoints rewardmail I think(?) I have a feeling I did join up but I wouldn't have asked to be charged at all! I am usually quite good at checking the different opt in/out boxes when ordering from a site I'm not familiar with, I hope I managed to avoid this extra, unwanted charge. I've checked my bank statement and cant see any £9.95 charge in the last month, thankfully, so I hope it hasn't affected me because I use a debit card for all my online purchases, I don't have a credit card of my own, so the advice to cancel the credit card and get a new one wouldn't be applicable to me! it just goes to show, you've got to be careful... ill have to double check my statement again in a week or so and hopefully no such charge will show... I only wanted the 'free' (not incl. VAT and P&P) calendar Vista Print offered me...
