    Default Broadband

    Howdy Frugallers,

I'm heading back to uni in a few weeks and moving into a nev house, so its time to start looking for a good broadband deal.

There are going to be 5 of us in the house so a big(ish) d/l limit would be good but speed isnt vital. Cheaper the better would be a bonus and as we are only in the house from Sept-June a service that doesnt have a 12month contract would be handy.

Was wondering if anybody has had any experiences with companies and/or could recommend any packages.

    Cheers
    Phil

I was gonna use Moneysupermarket to look some up for you but I need to put in a postcode so I might as well just give you the link instead.

    Hi Phil

Would advise that you also use a site called www.samknows.com. If you put your postcode in the availability checker it will show all the different services that are available to you (ADSL/LLU/Cable/ADSL2 providers)

If you are able to get an ADSL2 provider that would probably be best for you, someone like Be, could do a really good deal for you £24 for 24MB with a 1.3MB upload. Its is unlimited too, so no caps. You can cancel any time as long as you give 3 mths notice.
