My first digital camera Can any of you advise me on the best ones to buy, and also find me a good deal on one? Lisa x

What's your budget?
I don't advise the Canon A550 - i'm not liking it at all and it keeps sticking all the photos in folders according to the date they were taken
Loved my Samsung so would recommend them (7MP+).

My budget is £200 but would go over that a little if it came in a package. Lisa x

You should get a really good one for that then - I only spent £100. Here's thread I'd started for mine with good suggestions. Anyone got a Sony Cyber-shot?

I bought one of these:
I've got one of these, but knocked the lens and it's going back for repair. Good camera, but a little delicate. Also the touch interface is quirky and ipod like, but I couldn't get used to it.

So in the mean time, bought one of these. Also delivers great pictures, but far better build quality and a much nicer interface.
HC, I tend to ignore the cannon software and just drag the pics off to organize myself.
