Returning stuff to Amazon
Hi All,
advice needed.
I've got a newish camera - Samsumg NV10. Bought it in October 2006 so it's about 9 months old. It's developed a fault and I need to return it.
A few weeks ago I sent an email to Amazon and the response was a template letter basically saying to contact Samsung for tech support.
It def needs repair / replacement but I'd have thought it would be Amazon's responsibility to get it repaired?
I've been round and round the amazon returns policy. There's loads about the 30 day return policy but nothing that helps me. (Unless I'm blind).
Anybody got any advice?
Thanks

Do you have a warantee/guarantee thing to send to Samsung and get fixed for free?
Doubt Amazon will do anything about it after 30 days.

Yep HC. I've got the reciept that should have covered it for a year. I've also got Samsung's number to call tomorrow to ask them what I should do with it.
Just surprised Amazon wash their hands of it. Naive or what.

Well they only sell it, so they can't really anything about it can they? Best place to go to when things like Cameras break is the maker rather than the seller.

I know that they can't repair, but there once was a time that a store would take the responsibility and fire it back to the manufacturer on your behalf. They've more power than mere consumers. Then they do the chasing of the repair.
I know I'd feel better sending it to Amazon, rather than Samsung.
But off to samsung it goes.

Is it out of warranty then? I know with these things nowadays it's sometimes cheaper to replace than repair, but you never know. Worth a call.
With samsung there's an 8-8pm phone number for service. I called it about 7pm. The bloke put me through to another department that only opens until 6pm!
Cos I bought the Cannon 900 since, if this gets fixed / replaced will have 2 cameras, both give great pics. May have to ebay.

I bought it last Feb and was only a year guarantee
I did think it would be expensive and needed a working one asap so just bought the other with my vouchers. Tried going on their website and e-mailing them but was night my laptop screwed up so will try again.

Did it have a warranty with Amazon or Samsung? If it's a warranty from the store istelf then you'd be right, but if it's with the maker, I'm pretty sure the seller usually makes you go through the maker rather than themselves.
Or I could just be talking total bo11ocks! =/
