I'm no expert on the electronic book scene. I've got the iPhone ibooks app and was having a little browse through the ebooks for sale through the in-app store.

For example, Jeremy Clarkson's "How hard can it be?" for £12.99. £12.99?????

Now let's get this straight. If I buy the physical book that's:
Printed
Requires paper
Shipped to warehouse
Storage
Picked, packed
Shipped to buyer
for just £9.99 from amazon then what the hell is going on?
Don't forget, Amazon is doing well out of the £9.99 too!
If you take all the above costs off surely the electronic version should cost at most, 1/2 of the printed one. Instead they're charging more!!!
I betcha Clarkson isn't getting more from the electronic version than he does from the printed book. Where's the money going then?
Don't get me wrong, I like apple's stuff but they are taking the absolute P*** with this pricing. No-wonder they are making so much money and most people just pick up pirated versions.
Anyway. Sorry for the Clarkson style rant.
HELP!
I believe the iBooks are in the ePub format. Do any of you guys know where I can source them cheaper, with a good selection, that I can easily put onto our iPhones iBooks app?
I'm not looking for pirate versions (though that price makes me angry enough to be tempted), but just don't want to feel as though I'm being fleeced.
Thanks for any help.
