Default Modem router + USB Adaptor for PC

I've finally decided that now is the time to go wireless, but there is so many routers, and adaptors on the market that I don't know what to get.

For those of you that have got a wireless setup can you recommend me one, and find me the best price for it please?

    Many Thanks

    Lisa xx

First off, if you have been with ur ISP more than 12 months, ask for a free wireless router or threaten to change ISP and get one free.

Dongle - I got this one delivered today and its great for just £7.50

I've been with Orange since they took over Wanadoo, and at the time they sent a Thomson Speedtouch 330. Good idea Jak I'll ring them, and see what they've got to say. Lisa xx

Just spoke to Orange, and they're sending me a free wireless router within 5 days so that's good. Jak will any dongle work with it or do I have to buy a particualr one to be compatable with the router? Lisa xx

Any one will do Lisa. That £7.50 one is a bargain - I have that one working with O2 broadband and Zoe has with SKY.

It is just an external Wireless card basically. So yeah, anyone will do. But dont get one from ur ISP, they charge the earth just for thier logo on it!

Thanks I think I might purchase that one as well. I've been very happy with my speedtouch as he's never failed me yet, but felt it was time to go wireless especially now I've got a Wii. Lisa xx

Well Jak the dongle you recommended came yesterday, and I was back online within the hour! Both the the router, and dongle were fairly easy to set up, and I'm getting a vg signal so all is well. Thank you for recommending that dongle as I nearly bought one of the more expensive ones!

Lisa I hope you've got your Speedtouch protected. Someone doesn't here so anyone can access it.
