Yeah im kinda excited about it haha though I am looking quite thoroughly into reviews etc. and its so hard to be sure it'd be an improvement as far as concerts/low-light photography is concerned... some reviews I've seen say its not great at it and that the flash isn't all that good *sigh* but its kinda driving me nuts because I've looked closely at that other cheaper camera and right now im kinda fed up of it all, I just want to get something and have it sorted! *sigh*
The TZ6 that im looking at is like the poorer sibling of the TZ7 and I see people saying the TZ7 is pretty good at concerts but the lens sensor or whatever isn't *as* good in the TZ6, so its not um fair to make a like for like comparison between the two... I know without buying an SLR and really knowing 'your stuff', trying out alot of settings etc. you won't get brilliant results but idk, its frustrating... I think its worth the risk that it'll be as good as my current camera and hopefully a bit better though, as far as indoor concerts are concerned(?!). I've spent too many hours looking up search results on Google, that I dont wanna see anymore criticisms about it having read so many other really glowing reviews, its all so confusing to a non-expert! I know people who have Lumixes and love them, one or two people said they have the same model but haven't used them at shows yet or others have but they have the more expensive models and I really can't justify a camera that costs over £200!
Sorry, guess I needed to vent there lol!

I know what you mean. You can go round and round finding reasons to by a particular camera, then a reason not to. It's tricky as to know when to draw the line, decide which features are most important to you and just go for something.
I wanted a good zoom camera and there were some with a bigger zoom, but other features sold me on it. Now I've got it and happy with the results, I dare not read any more.

Yeah, your right. There will always be someone that has something(s) negative to say about any and all items really, its mainly because of the cost, I'll feel guilty if my family buy it and then I go to a concert later this year and the photos I take at it don't turn out well because they know thats what I mainly want the new one for :-/ but I feel like I can't really overlook the fact that it gets so many good general reviews, its clearly one of the best cameras of that type and it would be alot of fun for using on holidays, it just might not be the best for the situation I'd thought I'd want it for... oh well, I take more non-concert pics overall anyway I guess... I don't want to start looking up at totally different makes of camera after spending a good few days researching the two Lumixes in so much detail, so, im thinking ill just stick with TZ6 and ask for it and hope it serves me well
Its always confusing like I asked on a music forum and one or two people say they have the same model and its a really good camera and has been fine for concert pics and then I read reviews elsewhere saying its rubbish in low light and the flash is disappointingly slow in range or whatever and that as long as you don't want to use it for such purposes, you'll be fine(!) then on a photography blog site it says its perfect for nature and events photography... then my dad emailed me about it, since he knows a bit about cameras and he's saying he's not sure about the aperture size and im like well I don't know *sigh* can't things be simple?! lol! but other than that he thinks it sounds a really good camera, so...yeah *shrug* lol!
Thanks alot for the replies/help

I just have to forget about it for a couple of weeks... anyway thanks for the replies but its been bought now so I guess this topic can be closed...
